Reflections and images

i'm excited over this post that i find interesting to me.

2 weeks ago, i saw my reflection in a mirror and little did i know, that reflection i saw brought remembrance to me of something and it started a chain of thoughts.

'I am created in the image and likeness of God'

in Gen 1:26, God said 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness...' and then in verse 27, God 'created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.' these verses drew my attention to the word 'reflection'.

according to dictionary.com, a reflection is the image of something as reflected by a mirror. it is also described as an image; a representation; a counterpart.

i remembered i learnt from somewhere in church that we, as Christians, reflect who God is. practically, we are like walking mirrors that reflect God's image everywhere we go. so to say, how we act, the way we dress, think, speak all reflects how God is like.

as we are walking mirrors, people around us can see the image that we are reflecting. so, when we are not doing what we are reflecting, people will be able to see the difference. take for example, God is kind but you are not so kind, it contradicts and people can tell the difference.

although reflections only show what can be reflected on the outside, our character also reflects the image of God.

so friends, let's live a life where we can reflect the image of God.
