the star thrower

There is a beautiful beach somewhere in America and it features beautiful sunrise and sunset where people and couples will go for strolls.

That beach also particularly is a habitat and breeding ground for starfishes. the starfishes will usually get as close to the shore during high tide. Whenever it is low tide, the sarfishes will not be able to get back into the ocean and leaving them starnded on dry land, causing them to dry up and die.

one fine morning, an elderly man was strolling near the beach and he saw the shore full of starfishes that were stranded on dry land. What amazed him is not the sight of the starfishes but a young boy who is running back and forth on the beach.

Being curious, the man approached the boy and asked him what was he doing.

The boy replied him that he was throwing the starfishes back into the ocean so that they can live. Upon hearing the boy's words, the elderly man laughed at him and said, 'son, there a lot of starfishes on this beach. Are you able to throw them all back into the ocean?'

The young boy smiled, picked up a starfish and threw it back into the ocean. He then turned around and replied the elderly man, 'I may not be able to throw all of them back, but for that starfish I just threw, I made a difference in its life.'
