Fulfilling!!
it was tiring, yet filled with joy.
it was dirty, yet many came to clean
it used to be dull, now life is brighter, shimmering with light
it was a long day, yet the hours were worth it.
it was worth it, seeing joy in the man's eye
it was worth it, having a sense of fulfillment
it was worth it, able to impact the life of a total stranger
it was worth it, able to bring awareness to the next generation
all in all, IT WAS WORTH IT!
'Passion to touch lives', the core motto of a nurse, I learnt that from the student volunteers that helped out in the Extreme Makeover event which I was involved in on Saturday. They really showed me the meaning of passion. just like a fire which can burn something when come into contact, their passion really instil something more into me as a volunteer worker to impact, transform and change lives of beneficiaries I am placed over with.
Yes, I do say they are playful, fun bunch of people but they really serious in touching lives. I really believe that the Uncle we helped on saturday appreciated our gestures in helping him cleaning up, painting and giving him new furniture! :)
Enough of Saturday, talk about Sunday then, Meng Chin came over and lead the combined CG. I am really blessed by the Word he shared but also by him! It was a great meeting where love fills the air and people encouraging and affirming each other! God is indeed good! I really feel something even good will be coming as we remain faithful and keep on moving forward in faith! :)
