back from ubin and to civilization

at long last, after 4 days and 2 nights of intensive PT, trekking, emotional and psychological torture (not really torture but serious testing), i am finally back in singapore people!! woo hoo!! this is great. haha

well, i actually wanted to post on sunday night but i was a bit too lazy as i kind of miss my bed seriously so had a nice sleep. not much recovery done. hope that i can recover soon to play my guitar again.

ok, the journey to ubin starts off in my polytechnic and we, the freshies, have to maintain a push- up position until a late comer arrive (not bearing any grudge dude, peace) and then, the nightmare begins. the seniors asked us to knock it down. then, we were asked to fill up 3 jerry cans each weighing at 25 -28 kg when full. then we set off to changi village to take a ferry to our destination.

well, the camp was fierce, we have to do things fast and we have to meet up to the expectations of the seniors. if we fail to meet up to them, you know what to do (knock it down!).

injuries did occur in the camp. many of us at the end of the first day were already injured. the 3 jerry can holders all were down with muscle strains and one of them is me. some had blisters on their feet. there was one whose blisters bleed and his feet were partially covered with blood. some had abrasions, some broke down emotionally as they cannot take the stress.
i also had an old injury acting up. it hurt like there was no tomorrow. but it was ok. the pain ceased after a short while.

there were games and they were fun of course, the classic water bomb, checkpoint race and station games. i enjoyed them thoroughly. the seniors really put in effort in making the games.

of course, a camp right? who can forget about a campfire? had a campfire on the last night of camp and we sang, performed and did funny stuff during that time. haha... enjoyable. that is the word for it.

then, as this is a training camp, who can forget about punishments? we all accumulated punishments equivalent to a whooping, 1850 push- ups and it MUST be cleared at the last night of the camp. this explains why this camp is a 4 day, 2 night camp. the last night is for overnight PT (or should i say, punishment clearing?).

just right after our punishment was cleared, we went to a beach where we had our POP(passing-out parade) signifying our graduation from the camp (really sad that 1 campmate could not graduate due to a leg injury). during the POP, the seniors handed us souveniors for the camp(a t-shirt and dog tag). we have to give a speech about our reflections from the camp and then walk back to hq campsite to have a short rest and breakfast. eating in the camp is considered a previlege. this is what everyone in the camp will say. haha...

then we returned back to singapore and back to poly to return and clean the equipment and then, i am off to church and man, the journey is tiring! i was sleeping the whole journey. celebrated a fellow cell member's birthday and even received a gift from my friends who came back from their mission trip in KL. haha... thanks guys!

well, i think i'll stop here. i got no idea what should i post already. see you guys real soon again! bye!!
